Clean the lens
Remove loose dirt and road grit before polishing.
Koenig is used for haze, grime, yellowing, and oxidation on compatible headlight lenses. Mild conditions can be treated by hand; severe external oxidation has a separate restoration procedure.

This real customer before-and-after example summarizes the severe external oxidation process detailed below. Start with the simpler hand method first, and escalate only when the lens condition warrants correction.

Remove loose dirt and road grit before polishing.
Apply a few controlled sprays to the lens or application towel.
Use a terry or microfiber towel to work the surface and evaluate how much clarity returns.
Finish with a clean microfiber towel. If substantial exterior oxidation remains, move to the restoration procedure below.
Keep the working area lubricated with product rather than sanding a dry lens.
Wet-sand the oxidized exterior surface with Koenig Polish. This is a correction step, not routine maintenance.
Use a foam pad/buffer with Koenig Polish for the final machine-polishing step.
Buff by hand until clear. Koenig’s current headlight instructions recommend periodic hand maintenance afterward.
